CSA Email Policy

CSA Email Policy

The CSA will use mass email to disseminate valuable information to our membership.  We want to be respectful of our member’s time and prevent the distribution of unwanted email that causes our members a loss of personal and professional productivity.  CSA mass emails must contain at least one of the following:

  1. A message that is essential to CSA operations (i.e. voting for board member positons, AGM meeting announcements)
  2. A message that conveys CSA business and activities (i.e. CSA newsletters, announcement of new board positions)
  3. Job postings for agronomy positions or research positions in agronomy
  4. Opportunities for undergraduate or graduate studies in agronomic research
  5. Scholarships or awards for undergraduate or graduate students in agronomy
  6. A message that relates to our society journal and its operations (i.e. Canadian Journal of Plant Science (CJPS))
  7. A message that provides details on upcoming professional meetings and workshops related to agronomy and of potential interest to CSA members
  8. A message that advertises upcoming CSA professional and student awards
  9. A message that highlights CSA award winners
  10. A message related to CSA membership renewal
  11. CSA surveys of our membership related to CSA operations, business and activities
  12. A message or newsletters from organizations that CSA is a member (i.e. Plant Canada, Global Plant Council)
  13. Other emails that contain significant news value to our membership which have been approved for distribution by the executive

CSA will avoid the distribution of news feeds or re-printings of popular farm press media articles.
